Bounce will directly compete and via for viewing audience and market share with Radio One, which owns TV One and Viacom, which owns BET and Centric. Bounce's first programming will focus on established African American movies, including Spike Lee classics "Do the Right Thing" and "Mo' Better Blues," Will Smith's "Ali," John Singleton's "Boyz ‘n the Hood" and Denzel Washington vehicles "Glory," "Philadelphia" and "The Hurricane," and sports events through Urban Sports Entertainment Group for football and basketball games from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
The network will use the production and operational resources of Atlanta-based CSE, a sports, entertainment and TV production agency. Greenlight urges Bounce to create original programming immediately to establish its identity, reach its market and set its standard for entertainment.
